Power Friday – Week 4

Power Friday – Week 4

In preparation for my first powerlifting meet, I give you Power Friday!

Well oh well, where to begin? Let’s start with the visit to the nutritionist (Yes, there will be new Nutritionist Chronicle post very soon).

Since starting to see her at the beginning of January, I have lost 10 lbs. Considering that is about three months, it doesn’t sound like much, huh? Check this out though, my body fat percentage was 29.2, and is now 20.8. Lean muscle mass was 160.7 lbs., and is now 171.5. That’s an increase in lean muscle mass of 10.8 lbs.

I will tell you this, the majority of these improvements have been made over the last four weeks.

There was a serious case of cerebral-flatulence on Monday (I forgot to make up a new workout sheet over the weekend), and Tuesday was our appointment with the nutritionist. Needless to say my training was shifted a day forward. So, as I write this it is Thursday.

Wednesday was a session B (squats, overhead press, deadlift, chin-up, plank). Friday will be an “A” day, and then we’ll start fresh on Monday.

The weights are certainly getting heavier. When I started, the squat and deadlift were about 150 lbs. As of Friday, my squats are up to 205 lbs., and the squat is up to 200 lbs. My bench press started at 135 lbs., and is up to 165 lbs.

Overall, I’m very happy with my progress over the last four weeks. Granted, I’ve missed a few sessions which I‘m not happy about. Overall though, I’m still pleased.

See ya next week, and lift with your knees.

It’s been a fun project, if anything else. I’ve really been enjoying the workouts so far.
